Frozen money, victims waiting. Zonda clients want a change in the law

Currently, courts can order the forfeiture of assets without a conviction under certain conditions, but victims face long waits for compensation. Legal representatives suggest a unified judicial process for distributing seized assets among verified victims, ensuring fair payouts before any surplus goes to the state budget. This proposal aligns with the upcoming implementation of an EU directive on asset recovery and confiscation, aiming to expedite the recovery of assets, including those abroad. The ZondaCrypto case, involving significant fraud and money laundering, has led to the seizure of approximately 125 million PLN in assets, with thousands of crime reports filed.
