The first operation on a patient with Alzheimer's in Poland is behind us. "We managed to execute the entire plan"
The first experimental surgery for a patient with Alzheimer's in Poland was successfully conducted on October 20 at the Provincial Specialist Hospital in Słupsk. The procedure aimed to enhance the brain's natural mechanisms for removing harmful substances associated with Alzheimer's disease. Surgeons created connections between the lymphatic and venous systems to facilitate lymph drainage. The operation lasted nearly five hours, with no complications reported. The patient, a 58-year-old man, showed improvement in sleep quality shortly after the surgery. Doctors will monitor his condition for at least two years to assess the long-term effects of the procedure. Interest in this experimental method is high, with over 200 patients having applied for similar surgeries.
