The first tanker has set off from Russia to the USA. It's a drop in the ocean of America's needs.
Russia is set to supply diesel fuel to the U.S., with a deal in the final stages. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced that a tanker will transport 40,000 tons of diesel, with additional deliveries planned. The U.S. Treasury has issued a temporary license for these imports, valid until April 2027. Despite the Kremlin's claims of prioritizing the domestic market, analysts express skepticism due to ongoing fuel shortages in Russia, exacerbated by Ukrainian attacks on infrastructure. The planned exports are expected to meet only a fraction of U.S. demand, with projections indicating a total of 3-3.5 million tons by year-end.
