Urgent message. A wave of false SMS and letters about fines
The GITD warns about fraudulent SMS messages claiming to report speeding violations, which are not legitimate as the speed measurement system is not operational. They emphasize that GITD never sends SMS notifications regarding fines and that all official correspondence is conducted via postal mail or the eBOK CANARD portal. The first letter from CANARD does not constitute a fine and does not require payment. Only after agreeing to accept a fine will a formal notice be sent with payment details. GITD advises contacting them directly for verification of any suspicious correspondence.
