Pinto Luz distances himself from statements by the president of IHRU
Miguel Pinto Luz, the Minister of Infrastructure, criticized comments made by Benjamin Pereira, president of IHRU, regarding young people's willingness to sacrifice. Pinto Luz emphasized that young people are indeed making sacrifices and that the government aims to keep them in Portugal. His remarks were echoed by other political figures, including Patrícia Gonçalves Costa, who also distanced herself from Pereira's statements. The Socialist Party condemned Pereira's comments as intolerable, highlighting the sacrifices young people face. Additionally, BE's Fabian Figueiredo called for an urgent parliamentary hearing for Pereira, questioning his suitability for the role and the effectiveness of IHRU's housing policies for youth.
