PJ detains man wanted in Vietnam for 20 million fraud

A 56-year-old foreign citizen was arrested in Braga under an international arrest warrant from Vietnam for fraud involving approximately 20 million euros. The suspect had been evading justice for about seven years and had been residing in Portugal since 2019. He is accused of misappropriating funds from a Vietnamese bank and faces a potential prison sentence of up to 20 years in Vietnam. Following his arrest, he was presented to the Porto Court of Appeal and is subject to periodic reporting to law enforcement authorities.
