The "weekend" L4 plague. Employers have more and more tools for control

Employers are increasingly monitoring sick leave, particularly short-term absences around weekends. New regulations allow for stricter controls, with small businesses now able to conduct their own checks. In 2025, there were 27.5 million sick leaves in Poland, with a notable rise in one-day absences, especially on Fridays and Mondays. A significant portion of these absences is linked to activities that contradict the purpose of sick leave, such as gardening or home repairs. Data analysis tools are recommended for identifying patterns of misuse, enhancing the efficiency of monitoring sick leave.
