After 42 years of work, KRUS paid the highest pension to a farmer. It is 12 times smaller than that from ZUS
The Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) covers nearly one million individuals, providing pensions to farmers and their families who meet age and contribution requirements. The highest pension is awarded to a retiree born before January 1, 1949, who contributed for over 41 years, amounting to 4,772.11 PLN gross monthly. KRUS pensions cannot be lower than the minimum employee pension, set at 1,978.49 PLN gross from March 2026. In comparison, the average pension from ZUS was 4,535.94 PLN gross in August 2026, while the highest ZUS pension exceeds 54,000 PLN, making KRUS pensions significantly lower. KRUS calculates pensions based on individual contribution periods and the current basic agricultural pension amount, with specific rules for those born before 1949, allowing for consideration of non-agricultural work periods.
