Burial not only in the cemetery? The ministry plans a major change in regulations

The Polish Ministry of Development and Technology is preparing a comprehensive amendment to the 1959 law on burial practices. The new regulations will allow for the scattering of ashes in designated memory gardens at cemeteries and permit the storage of urns at home. Additionally, ashes can be scattered in meaningful locations, excluding national parks. The project also includes provisions for incorporating ashes into memorial items, such as jewelry, and addresses ecological burial options like biourns and memory trees. This amendment is set to be discussed in an upcoming government meeting, with a legislative schedule to be established.
