Trains are to accelerate to 100 km/h. They want to restore narrow-gauge railway traffic.

A company has submitted an application for an environmental decision to the Regional Director of Environmental Protection in Warsaw, expected by late 2027 or early 2028. This is part of the project to build railway line 88 from CPK Junction to Grójec and Warka, announced in September 2025. The project aims to restore passenger traffic and modernize the line for contemporary trains, allowing speeds up to 100 km/h while preserving the area's historical character. The modernization will include 13 stations and a new traffic control system, enhancing train frequency. Additionally, the narrow-gauge line will connect with the standard gauge network at Piaseczno Wiadukt, facilitating travel to Warsaw. CPK, fully owned by the State Treasury, is responsible for this investment, which includes a central airport and high-speed rail network, with completion expected by 2035.
