The traveler returned home after 28 years of wandering
Karl Bushby, a former soldier, completed an extraordinary journey spanning four continents, covering 50,000 kilometers on foot, and crossing the Bering Strait. After 28 years, he returned to his hometown of Hull, where he was warmly welcomed by his mother and local officials. Bushby began his trek on November 1, 1998, inspired by his father, and faced numerous challenges including visa issues and the COVID-19 pandemic. His journey was marked by breaks totaling around 13 years, during which he often had to return to Mexico before resuming from where he left off. The world has changed significantly since he started, with major cultural and political shifts occurring during his travels.
