Price increases on the A2 motorway. The ministry speaks of "unacceptable" pricing policy

The Polish Ministry of Infrastructure criticized the pricing policy of Autostrada Wielkopolska for frequent toll increases, which are deemed unacceptable. The current concession agreement, established in 1997, allows the company to set tolls as long as they do not exceed contractually defined maximums. Since 2015, tolls on the Nowy Tomyśl-Konin section have risen by approximately 141-145%. The ministry sought intervention from the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection to halt these increases, but was informed that current rates are still below the maximum allowed. No legislative measures are being pursued to limit toll hikes or provide subsidies for specific user groups, with the concession lasting until 2037.
