Poles do not collect deposits for bottles. The system already has 1.5 billion PLN

The deposit added to beverage prices is refunded when consumers return empty containers. However, companies have concerns about the use of unclaimed deposits, estimated at 1.5 billion PLN. Operators await clarification from the Ministry of Climate regarding the allocation of these funds, as current regulations are unclear. Additionally, delays in settlements between operators pose financial risks. Since the system's inception, over 5 billion containers have been returned, with more than 65,500 return points in Poland. The ministry emphasizes that unclaimed deposits cannot be considered profit for companies and plans to extend the validity of vouchers from 30 to 90 days.
