Poles live shorter lives than the EU average. The Ministry of Health presents a ten-year plan
Poland's Ministry of Health has proposed a ten-year National Health Program aimed at improving public health and addressing chronic disease risk factors. The program, set to begin in 2027, focuses on reducing smoking, alcohol consumption, poor diet, and lack of exercise, which contribute to nearly 29% of deaths in Poland. It also addresses mental health, digital addiction, and climate change impacts. Despite improvements in life expectancy, Poland still lags behind the EU average. The program aims to enhance health equity and reduce preventable deaths, with a significant emphasis on long-term health behavior changes and effective prevention strategies.
