Poland breaks up international criminal group accused of laundering €77 million

Poland has dismantled an international criminal organization involved in laundering approximately 337 million zloty through currency exchange offices linked to internet scams. Nine individuals, primarily Ukrainians and one Belarusian, were arrested during raids in various cities. The suspects, including cashiers and exchange office operators, face charges of organized crime and money laundering, potentially leading to 15 years in prison. The group allegedly funneled money from internet fraud into cryptocurrencies, bypassing anti-money laundering regulations. The operation's scale was significant, with funds concealed through fictitious gold purchases and international transfers.
