Poland sends extra police to the border with Russia after 'provocation'
Poland is increasing police presence near the Russian border following a thwarted potential provocation. Prime Minister Tusk reported sightings of individuals with flashlights in the area close to the Kaliningrad exclave. He confirmed that attempts at provocation were prevented but did not disclose the individuals' intentions or whether they crossed into Polish territory. In addition to police, anti-terror units will be deployed due to credible intelligence suggesting possible sabotage actions and armed incursions. Tusk has warned of a real risk of hybrid attacks from Russia targeting NATO countries supporting Ukraine.
