Police officers from Małkinia charged after the death of a 51-year-old man
On April 5, Jacek K. escaped during a medical examination at a hospital while being supervised by police. After fleeing, he did not comply with police orders, leading to an officer using his firearm. Jacek K. was injured and later died despite resuscitation efforts. An autopsy revealed gunshot wounds but indicated that the direct cause of death was cardiovascular failure. Two police officers, Sylwester A. and Paweł J., face charges for failing to secure Jacek K. and for the use of excessive force. Both officers deny the allegations and have been suspended from duty.
