Police zone North and youth fire brigade Stabroek destroy 17 electric scooters and 10 fatbikes

Police zone Noord (Kapellen-Stabroek) confiscated 17 e-scooters and 10 fatbikes that were not compliant with traffic regulations. These vehicles were destroyed in collaboration with the youth fire brigade in Stabroek. The confiscation aimed to enhance road safety, as non-compliant vehicles pose risks to users and others. Antwerp's mayor, Els van Doesburg, has advocated for mandatory license plates for e-scooters to facilitate owner identification. Some schools in the province have also banned students from using fatbikes to attend classes.
