Polish soldiers will buy gloves, protective glasses, and holsters for themselves
On October 9, Decision No. 173/MON established the Green List, allowing soldiers to purchase and use specific individual equipment legally. The Ministry of Defense will soon announce the first call for manufacturers to submit products for inclusion in this list. The process aims to ensure that the equipment meets military standards while allowing soldiers to choose better alternatives to standard issue gear. However, soldiers will not be reimbursed for their purchases. The list will not include items like helmets or ballistic vests, and the Ministry emphasizes that quality will remain a priority. The initiative is seen as a way to legitimize existing practices where soldiers privately purchased better gear, but concerns remain about funding and the potential impact on systemic changes in military supply.
