Will Poland avoid the relocation of migrants? There is a promise from Brussels

The European Commission will present a report on the migration situation in EU member states on November 4. The findings will influence which countries will be included in the mandatory solidarity mechanism of the new migration and asylum pact. Poland is expected to remain exempt from this mechanism until the end of 2026 due to the high number of Ukrainian refugees and ongoing illegal border crossings. The Commission is likely to recommend extending Poland's exemption for another year. Additionally, EU countries have committed to fewer relocations than planned, with Germany agreeing to accept 4,500 migrants, primarily from Italy and Greece.
