Polish companies have started pursuing foreign acquisitions

At the end of 2025, the value of Polish direct investments abroad decreased to nearly 162 billion PLN, yet foreign acquisitions by Polish companies nearly doubled. Despite the decline in investment statistics, the growth in greenfield investments indicates ongoing expansion. The drop in direct investment figures is attributed to reduced inter-company loans and delayed payments. Analysts note a shift in the nature of investments, with a rise in equity investments, reflecting a maturation of Polish investors who seek control over foreign enterprises. Key markets for acquisitions include Germany, the Czech Republic, and Romania, driven by their economic potential. The Foreign Expansion Fund supports Polish companies in overcoming barriers to international investment, providing co-investment and financing options.
