Over 5 billion zlotys to the budget. The ministry reveals estimates

The tax on extraordinary profits of fuel companies will now apply from March 2026 to the end of Q1 2027, with estimated revenues of 1.2 billion PLN for the first quarter. The Ministry of Finance noted that actual revenues will depend on geopolitical conditions. The tax aims to fund the government’s "Lower Fuel Prices" support package, which has already cost around 5.2 billion PLN. Taxpayers include businesses producing liquid fuels and those selling imported fuels. The tax rate will be 60% for producers and 50% for sellers without production, based on a reference margin from 2025.
