Pope says stop preparing for more wars, only peace is holy

Pope Leo XIV emphasized the need for global peace in a video message to an Assisi peace meeting, urging nations to cease preparations for war. He stated that war cannot be justified in the name of God and that true believers should recognize that fighting for religion undermines it. The Pope called for a rejection of the notion of holy wars, advocating instead for dialogue and mediation to foster peace. He highlighted the importance of the 'spirit of Assisi' in today's power-driven culture, promoting a commitment to peace over conflict.
