During a presentation of a report by NASK, Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski criticized social media platforms for their inadequate responses to misinformation. He emphasized the need for Polish-speaking teams to work directly with NASK and security services. Gawkowski warned of potential financial penalties for platforms that fail to comply with state requests regarding the removal of bot networks. The report revealed that out of over 65,000 reported misinformation cases, only a small percentage were moderated or removed. Gawkowski announced the establishment of a Center for Combating Disinformation to address these issues and collaborate with various stakeholders. A report will be prepared for the European Commission detailing platform compliance with misinformation management.
