Porsche reveals Mission S, the model that will overshadow the 911

The German automaker, facing a severe financial crisis with a 98.3% drop in automotive profits, unveiled the Mission S prototype, set to be the new flagship supercar above the iconic 911. Revealed in New York, the Mission S will adopt a different name for its final model, similar to how the Mission E became the Taycan. The design draws inspiration from past models like the 911 GT1 and 918 Spyder, featuring a central rear engine layout for improved balance, unlike the traditional rear-engine setup. The prototype also introduces a longer chassis and accommodates only two passengers, moving away from the previous 2+2 configuration.
