Port for giants. How Poland is building the infrastructure for offshore wind energy

The Polish Development Fund's investment of 1.2 billion PLN highlights the significance of offshore energy development, which includes not only wind turbines but also essential infrastructure like ports and logistics. The construction of the T5 terminal involved substantial resources, including 3.5 million m³ of sand and 2,700 foundation piles, ensuring it can support massive wind turbine components. Designed for future offshore energy needs, T5 features robust specifications comparable to established European ports. It aims to facilitate multiple projects, starting with the Baltica 2 wind farm, and positions Gdańsk as a key player in the Baltic offshore energy market. This investment reflects Poland's commitment to building long-term logistical and engineering capabilities in the renewable energy sector.
