Portugal among 12 countries that will release barrels of oil

Twelve EU countries, including Portugal, will release 42.6 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves to stabilize diesel markets ahead of winter. This decision follows a G7 commitment to alleviate rising fuel prices due to geopolitical tensions. The European Commissioner for Energy, Dan Jørgensen, emphasized the need for market stabilization. Despite concerns over energy prices, Portugal's oil companies do not foresee immediate supply disruptions. The EU is monitoring the crisis's impact on household budgets but currently sees no supply security issues. The participating countries also include Germany, France, and Italy, all members of the International Energy Agency.
