Portugal will reach tourism revenues above 53 billion euros in 2035 says Government

Portugal is projected to welcome 50 million international tourists and generate over 53 billion euros in tourism revenue by 2035, according to the Secretary of State for Tourism. Pedro Machado announced these estimates during a congress in Lagoa, highlighting the approved Tourism Strategy 2035 aimed at enhancing regional development and correcting disparities. He noted that by 2026, the country expects to exceed 30 million international tourists and 30 billion euros in revenue. Despite a decrease in tourism investment in the 2027 State Budget, Machado emphasized increased support through Turismo de Portugal, totaling around 30 million euros for regional tourism initiatives. The congress focuses on the intersection of knowledge and technology in tourism.
