Klaus and Zeman received an invitation from Pavel. But only one will arrive at the Castle.
Former presidents of the Czech Republic are invited to the state holiday celebration on October 28, but only Václav Klaus will attend. Miloš Zeman will skip the event again, citing a dislike for formal gestures and criticizing the current president's views on monarchy. Zeman will instead attend a gathering organized by the Czech Union of Fighters for Freedom. Klaus plans to speak at an event earlier in the day and will later join the celebration at Prague Castle. This year's state honors will recognize around 48 individuals, with over 200 nominations submitted, including notable figures from various fields.
