Deadline for Municipal Emergency Fund will be extended
The Portuguese government is considering extending the deadline for municipalities to apply for the Municipal Emergency Fund (FEM) until December 31. This decision comes after municipalities expressed concerns about the tight deadline for submitting claims related to damages from severe weather earlier this year. The current deadline is November 30, and the government aims to facilitate the application process by potentially allowing submissions into early January. The FEM provides financial support for the repair and reconstruction of public infrastructure affected by exceptional weather events, covering up to 60% of verified damages.
