Fuel prices rise 31.4% in the EU in September
In September, fuel prices in the EU rose by 31.4% year-on-year, following increases of 16.9% in July and 23.8% in August. Bulgaria, Estonia, and Lithuania saw price hikes exceeding 40%. Twelve other EU countries experienced increases above 30%, with Portugal at 30.3%. The lowest increase was in Hungary at 6.9%. Compared to August, diesel prices rose by 5.9% and gasoline by 6.7% across the EU, while in Portugal, the increases were 5.1% and 5.9%, respectively. The rise in fuel prices is attributed to disruptions caused by the ongoing conflict in Iran.
