Presentation of state decorations by the President of the Republic

On the occasion of the 108th anniversary of Czechoslovakia's independence, President Petr Pavel will award state honors to 51 individuals in a ceremony at Prague Castle. This marks an increase of three recipients compared to last year. The names of the awardees remain undisclosed. Pavel noted that around 900 proposals for honors are submitted each year, making the selection process challenging. Approximately 2,000 guests received invitations for the event, with around 640 able to attend in the Vladislav Hall. Previous President Miloš Zeman awarded 394 honors during his tenure, while Václav Klaus and Václav Havel had different awarding patterns throughout their presidencies.
