Prime Minister Tusk: Even the president cannot enter the area of the Constitutional Tribunal and issue orders

In his address, Prime Minister Tusk criticized the ruling party PiS for undermining the rule of law in Poland, particularly regarding the Constitutional Tribunal. He emphasized that the Tribunal, as shaped by PiS, is not a legitimate court and highlighted attempts to restore judicial independence that were blocked by the president and PiS. Tusk condemned the attacks on newly appointed judges and asserted that the rule of law must prevail over violence and intimidation. He reaffirmed the importance of democracy in Poland and expressed confidence that the Constitutional Tribunal would eventually function properly. Tusk pledged to ensure the Tribunal's safety and operational conditions, asserting Poland's strength and determination as a democratic state.
