Childhood Award 2026 honors 32 institutions

The Prémio Infância, awarded annually since 2019 by BPI and Fundación 'la Caixa', supports projects aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty for vulnerable children and adolescents in Portugal. In 2026, 32 projects were selected from 170 candidates across various regions, each receiving an average of 45,000 euros. The winning initiatives focus on areas such as music, digital literacy, and emotional well-being, aiming to enhance development and combat school dropout rates. Since its inception, the award has recognized 266 projects, distributing over 9.2 million euros and benefiting more than 85,000 children and adolescents.
