Presidential 2027: Jean-Luc Mélenchon claims he will replace the director of Bpifrance if elected
Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the candidate from La France insoumise, announced plans to replace Bpifrance's CEO, Nicolas Dufourcq, if elected. He criticized the current financial public pole for lacking control and stated that Dufourcq's leadership is incompatible with his vision. Mélenchon revealed LFI's proposal to double public investment from 100 billion to 200 billion euros annually, while ruling out nationalization of banks. To support this banking initiative, LFI aims to implement non-binding savings mechanisms and increase the Livret A ceiling from 23,000 to 30,000 euros, potentially generating an additional 40 billion euros. A new long-term savings plan, Livret B, will also be introduced, offering higher interest rates.
