Presidential election in Bulgaria: Iliana Iotova wins the election, according to several exit polls

Iliana Iotova has won the Bulgarian presidential election, advocating for dialogue with Moscow to end the Ukraine war. She secured between 50.7% and 52.5% of the votes, surpassing her opponent Andreï Guiourov, who received 43.4% to 44%. Iotova, who could become Bulgaria's first female president, emphasized the need for negotiations over military support in Ukraine. The election took place amid rising economic difficulties and increased drone attacks in the Black Sea. Iotova, a former journalist and socialist party figure, aims to address poverty in Bulgaria, the EU's poorest country.
