They called him the Candy Man. Father poisoned his son on Halloween for the insurance.

In 1974, eight-year-old Timothy O'Bryan died after consuming a Pixy Stix laced with cyanide, leading to the arrest of his father, Ronald Clark O'Bryan. The father, who had financial troubles, had increased life insurance policies on his children shortly before the incident. During Halloween, he accompanied Timothy and other children while collecting candy, including the poisoned treat. After Timothy fell ill and died, investigators uncovered inconsistencies in Ronald's story and his motive to claim insurance money. He was convicted and executed in 1984, becoming known as 'The Candyman.' This case sparked widespread fear of tainted Halloween candy, despite no evidence of similar incidents occurring from strangers.
