Tomasz Marzec was dismissed as the director of the Sports Infrastructure Board in Krakow by the newly elected mayor, Łukasz Gibała. The decision was influenced by differing visions for the development of sports in the city and concerns over contracts with a private firm, Mais Group. Marzec will remain in his position until November 30, 2024, while his deputy, Anna Szlachta-Kowalska, will take over his duties. Gibała's administration is reviewing all appointments made in the past two years for potential nepotism and lack of transparency. The dismissal follows an audit that raised questions about the necessity and criteria for contracts signed by Marzec's predecessor, which totaled over 300,000 PLN.
