The first SIRESP radios will arrive in November in the North

The first SIRESP radios are set to be delivered in November to local councils in Northern Portugal, with plans for broader distribution later. The initiative aims to equip all councils with satellite communication and emergency response systems as part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan. The president of SIRESP SA, Paulo Viegas Nunes, noted that 4,000 terminals are being coded for delivery, emphasizing the careful testing required for each unit. Additionally, there were complications regarding the procurement of generators, leading to tensions within the Ministry of Internal Administration. Nunes expressed support for transforming SIRESP SA into a public institute but opposed direct integration into the ministry, citing the network's sovereignty and security needs.
