Cooling problem in stores. The incident concerns dozens of outlets
Ahold Delhaize reported a rise in temperatures in its refrigeration systems, labeling it an IT incident affecting its refrigerators and freezers. The exact number of impacted stores was not disclosed. This incident follows a cyberattack on another Ahold Delhaize brand, Albert Heijn, which disrupted distribution centers and online ordering. The attack also affected Ahold Delhaize stores in the U.S., prompting the company to file a criminal complaint in the Netherlands. Similar incidents occurred in Sweden, where hackers compromised refrigeration systems in ICA stores, raising temperatures significantly and causing closures. Other European chains, including Intermarche and Leclerc, also reported similar attacks recently.
