Why is it so easy to hate today? A new documentary examines the radicalization of Czech society

Director Ondřej Šálek presents his debut feature film "Nesnášení," an observational documentary exploring the escalating conflict in Prague between anti-system activists and pro-Ukrainian supporters. The film aims to understand the growing intolerance in society rather than take sides. It will premiere at the MFDF Ji.hlava on October 28 and will be released in Czech cinemas in spring 2027. The documentary highlights the ease of hatred over dialogue in contemporary society, showcasing the radical empathy of the director towards the protagonists, despite differing opinions. The film is produced by Xova Film in collaboration with Czech Television.
