Prof. Marcin Matczak on the events in the Constitutional Tribunal: You cannot restore the rule of law by force

Marcin Matczak criticized the actions against the president of the Constitutional Tribunal, Bogdan Święczkowski, stating there are no legal grounds for such measures. He emphasized that restoring the rule of law cannot be achieved through force. An announcement was made about Święczkowski and vice-president Bartłomiej Sochański being placed on forced leave, which led to accusations of illegal takeover of the Tribunal's website. The situation escalated outside the Tribunal, prompting police intervention due to threats to staff safety. Jarosław Kaczyński accused the government of a forceful coup against the Tribunal, while President Karol Nawrocki interrupted his official trip to Senegal to return to Poland.
