Data center development forecasts are underestimated
During the EFNI in Sopot, NASK signed an agreement with PGE focusing on heat recovery and data centers. This collaboration marks a new venture for NASK, which already operates data centers. The partnership allows NASK to utilize PGE's strategically located sites with existing energy connections. The demand for data centers in Poland is expected to grow significantly, although construction challenges may arise. There is considerable investor interest in this sector, but expertise in building data centers remains limited. Establishing data centers contributes to technological sovereignty by ensuring cloud services are managed locally. Cybersecurity is also a critical concern, with businesses needing to foster a culture of security. The responsibility for cybersecurity lies with company management, while the government provides tools and support. Local governments also require cybersecurity measures, with significant investments being made to enhance their resilience.
