The Arte e Periferias Urbanas program expanded the universe of beneficiaries of public support
The Arte e Periferias Urbanas program, a collaboration between DGArtes and AIMA, has expanded the range of beneficiaries for public arts funding. The first edition in 2024 supported ten projects with an average funding of 49,000 euros. The evaluation report highlights the program's potential to reach organizations previously lacking support, although barriers to entry remain. Challenges included reliance on local public entities and administrative delays. The second edition will fund 20 artistic projects, with an additional 500,000 euros announced to support more initiatives. The Minister of Culture emphasized the importance of this funding for quality projects that were initially overlooked.
