The project has sparked a wave of criticism. There will be no controversial changes for midwives.

The Polish Ministry of Health has decided to maintain the current midwifery education system, following significant opposition from midwives. The proposed changes, which included a two-tier education model, faced over 1,000 objections during public consultations. Despite initial intentions to reform the training pathway, the Ministry acknowledged the criticism and will not implement the changes. The decision was influenced by concerns that the reform would marginalize the midwifery profession, which plays a crucial role beyond childbirth. The final revised bill is expected to be submitted to the parliament this year.
