Prosecutor searches far-right group offices in EU Parliament

European Public Prosecutor’s Office officials conducted searches at the European Parliament targeting staff of the far-right Patriots group. This action is part of an investigation into the mismanagement of EU funds by the now-defunct Identity and Democracy group. The Parliament's finance department previously identified €4.3 million in irregular expenditures from 2019 to 2024. The EPPO initiated its investigation following these findings. Jean-Paul Garraud, head of France’s National Rally in the Parliament, confirmed the ongoing searches.
