Prosecutors search European Parliament offices of far-right Patriots bloc in graft probe
EU prosecutors conducted searches at the offices of the far-right Patriots group linked to a graft investigation involving its predecessor, Identity and Democracy. The Patriots group stated that they have no legal ties to the dissolved ID group, which was accused of misusing EU funds. The investigation focuses on alleged misappropriation of €4.3 million, primarily involving funds directed to an adviser of Marine Le Pen. The searches were confirmed by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, which aims to ensure the integrity of the proceedings. The Patriots group is now the third-largest faction in the European Parliament.
