Housing protest returned to the center of Lisbon
A recent housing rights protest in Lisbon was disrupted when a man with an Israeli flag was removed by police after allegedly provoking demonstrators. Tensions escalated as some protesters took the flag from him. In Porto, housing activists also chose not to stay overnight in their designated area. Despite not setting up tents overnight, some protesters returned to the Rossio square early in the morning, citing their right to protest. Police have stated that while protests can continue, they must adhere to certain rules, including maintaining open spaces and quiet during the night. The situation has been further complicated by inflammatory remarks from the Minister of Internal Administration, which some believe exacerbate tensions.
