Student protests return to France
Students in France are resuming protests against government measures they deem insufficient regarding education. Over 40 schools are currently blocked as students express dissatisfaction with recent funding and policy changes. The French government allocated five billion euros for building renovations and announced adjustments to higher education access and increased scholarship amounts. In response, students have organized two demonstrations this week following autumn break. Currently, 48 secondary schools are blocked, affecting about one percent of all institutions, along with disruptions at around 50 universities. Authorities in Paris have modified the route of one protest citing security concerns.
