Ahead of us is the "largest increase in airline ticket prices in European history"

Airline ticket prices in Europe are expected to rise significantly due to increasing fuel costs and reduced supply from airline bankruptcies and mergers. Ryanair's CEO, O'Leary, predicts a price increase of 10-20% over the next year, marking a historic rise. The conflict in Iran has driven up fuel prices, impacting airlines without proper hedging. Ryanair has secured 80% of its fuel needs at $67 per barrel until March 2027, but only 15% for the following year at $85 per barrel. Additionally, Ryanair plans to cut 20 routes in Belgium due to a tax increase from €2 to €7 starting January.
